Shannon and Dalton invited me over to their home for some family photos, and what I got was a visit from a goat, 2 large geese, and loads of fun! Let's not forget the 2 most energetic little boys I have ever met. Colton is so full of spunk ... He was constantly ON and wanting to make his little brother Jaxon laugh was his top priority. Then he took me all over his yard to show me his swing set, toys and all the animals they have. Jaxon is much more quiet, but still full of energy. He is a sweet boy who clearly loves his mom and dad. But I think the most special part of the visit was watching the boys with their grandfather. They climbed on him, pinched, poked, tickled and I think there was even a bite in their some where, but it was nothing but laughs the whole time! Little baby Carson is in for a treat when he gets bigger, his brothers are going to spoil him rotten. Shannon and Dalton, you have such an adorable little family, thank you for opening your home and treating me like family.
I met Nina through my friend Jen's daycare where I did her son Quinten's school pictures. The day I did those pictures, poor Q was so sick, and just not into pictures. I tried so hard to get a smile from him, but he was just not having it. I felt terrible sending Nina the pictures I did, but she loved them! We exchanged a few emails about the session and the images and I knew right then and there that Nina was one laid back, cool chick. Well I was right :). Nina contacted me a few months back and wanted to do a session with her and Quinten, and also wanted to include her sister and her two boys to get a family photo for their dad for Father's Day.
The day we met up was absolutely gorgeous and seeing Quinten again was such a treat. He had changed so much since the last time I saw him, and watching him run around exploring and hanging with his bigger cousins was just great. This family has so much love amongst them. Nina and her sister, Amy have a very strong bond. They are goofy and loving all in the same breath. They both have great love for their children and its clear that family means the world to them. Thank you to Nina, Quinten, Amy, Krillen and Kaleb for being such tremendous people and for putting up with me moving them 9,002 times because the sun was just a little to bright :-)
I love when I get to see families grow and come back each year for updated pictures. I was able to do Jenn and Jay's pregnancy reveal last fall and now little Miss Ayvah is 2 months old and was so ready to do her first photo shoot. And what better location than their home ... not only is it beautiful, but Miss Autumn felt so comfortable that she had instant smiles for me.
I could not get over how mellow Miss Ayvah was. She smiled at me the minute she walked out the door. She sat in her big sisters arms and then fell fast asleep - after a nice little unplanned diaper change ;-)
While the baby slept, we brought out the bubbles and Autumn was in heaven. She could not stop laughing and chasing those bubbles around. She tried to blow them herself, but ended up eating more than blowing them. All in due time little one.
After bubbles we went to look at the flowers. Autumn was so sweet, and even put the flowers in her hair. Melt my heart...
The funniest part of my visit with Jenn and Jay was Autumn's cute little tongue smile. She thought it was more funny to stick her tongue out and make me tell her to put it away ... which I'm not complaining about because not only did it produce some beautful family shots but it was also awesome to hear that little giggle from Autumn (and mom and dad too!)
I am so happy to have families like this in my life. Congratulations Jenn and Jay.. you have a beautiful family!
I was introduced to Amanda through a mutual friend. She contacted me and we decided to meet up for coffee. As soon as I walked into the coffee shop I immediately knew who Amanda was by her warm smile. She greeted me with a hug and we sat down and fell into a nice conversation about raising a little girl and all the fun that that comes with. It was like we were old friends. I was thrilled when Amanda called me that after noon to tell me she wanted me to photograph their wedding, and we immediately began discussing the engagement session.
Winter was not kind to us and we had to wait for what seemed like an eternity to finally get some good weather. We actually had to postpone our first date due to rain, but we finally got to meet up at their wedding location in Maine, and we had the whole place to ourselves and walked and talked for the good part of an hour. Ben had me laughing the whole time, and I could clearly see the love between these two soulmates.
Amanda has a beautiful reminder of their love and devotion on her arm, which says "Finally our souls can intertwine".
I could not be happier for these two souls and cannot wait for the wedding.
What a beautiful way to spend a morning than with a brand new baby and his adorable, doting big brother. I had the pleasure of taking pictures of Callan towards the end of last year, and he was quite the little character. Running around, jumping and just being a little boy exploring. Then out of the blue I got a call from Julie asking me when a good time to do newborn photos were. I didn't even know she was pregnant, and the new baby was coming fairly soon!
So I made sure Julie knew I would be available as soon as baby Braden was born. I got the call on Mother's Day that he had arrived and we scheduled his session right then.
When I got to their home, Callan was more than excited to show off his new brother to me and was very intent on watching Mommy take care of his brother. He took me up to show me his room and his brothers room and while we were taking photos, Callan was pulling out books to read to his brother. Every chance Callan could get to give his brother kisses, he took. Whether it was while he was being changed, feeding, rocking with Mommy or just sleeping, Callan was smooching on this baby!
Julie and Scott, thank you so much for letting me come to meet your new little bundle and for spending some time with you and the boys. Life is going to be so much fun now that you are a family of 4.
Congratulations to you all. Much love, Keri
